Ethics
We recognize that the planet has given us the cotton with which we make our Kamikaze Boarding organic clothing from and so we feel it our duty to give something back. There are no big factories churning out gallons of fumes here. Where possible all of our Surf, Skate, Snow clothing is made from Organic Cotton (All T-shirts are now made using Organic Cotton) and although the dye and inks are chemical based we will try to minimize wastage as much as we can and reduce our carbon footprint. All our garments come from Fair Trade suppliers so you will know that we respect the people who make your clothes. Every item of our surf clothing is hand printed here in the UK by our dedicated team.
ETHICAL, ECOLOGICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL - Ethical Manufacturing & Justice for Workers
To ensure that Kamikaze Boarding does not contribute to the social injustice seen in manufacturing, commonly known as sweatshop labour, even unwittingly, our manufactures have made transparent their manufacturing supply chain with independent audits by the the ‘Fair Wear Foundation’.
The Fair Wear Foundation exists to promote fair labour conditions in the garment industry worldwide. Our manufacturers have signed up to the Code of Labour Practices, and thereby has committed to monitor the factories of our suppliers. The Fair Wear Foundation verifies that the Code of Labour Practices is implemented and respected at the factories. Our manufacturers were the first company in the UK to become a member.

Organic Fair Trade Practices
Under the Global Organic Textile Standard, farmers and field workers are protected by stringent social criteria and by the ban on the use of poisonous chemicals that can severely damage the health of farmers and their families. Textile workers are protected by the same criteria and also by total traceability across the entire supply chain, from farm to distribution.
Since 2007, our manufacturers have been licensed by the Soil Association as suppliers of authentic organic cotton garments. Our manufacturer proudly labels its organic garments with the Soil Association's organic certification mark.
Carbon Neutral
Our carbon footprint has been measured in agreement with BSI PAS2050 methods, and certified by the Carbon Trust.
The 90% reduction has been achieved by a mixture of low impact organic farming, adeptness in manufacturing and transportation, and the use of renewable energy instead of the fossil fuel based grid electricity.
It has been calculated that a single Kamikazeboarding T-shirt saves around 7 kilograms of CO2, whereas a hoodie saves up to 28 kgs of greenhouse gases.
These are actual reductions achieved in the manufacturing, without any carbon offsetting.
